UN Conference on the World Financial and Economic crisis and its impact on development 1-3 June 2009

unThe United Nations is convening an extraordinary General Assembly from 1-3 June 2009 to assess the impact of the ongoing economic crisis on the developing countries and identify emergency and long-term responses. It will be attented by world leaders, representatives of the United Nations, the World Bank and the IMF, as well as civil society organisations representatives.

 

Davos Summit Wants to "Shape the Post-Crisis World"

davosThe 39th edition of the World Social Forum is taking place from the 28th of January to the 1st of February 2009. This edition of the Davos Summit is particular as it must address what may be the worst financial crisis since the first summit in 1971. 2500 participants from 96 countries will work around the theme of “Shaping the post-crisis world”.

 

G20 Summit in London

londong20On April 2nd 2009, Leaders from the 19 World's largest economy and the EU will meet in London for the G20 summit. After the Washington summit held in November 2008, they will try to restore global economic growth and find solutions to the impacts of the Financial Crisis.
